Abbey sat in the library at around seven AM. Classes wouldn't start for another hour and a half, but when the Headless Headmistress got to school, so did Abbey. She was seated cross-legged at the table, staring down at a book. She yawned slightly and carefully touched her hot chocolate, taking a quick sip in an attempt not to freeze it while drinking it.

Merida Aeris never really had much to do in the morning, so she frequently showed up far too early for school. Usually she wandered around the halls or waited in front of her classroom, but today the Wisp wandered to the library, feeling that this was where Fate was bringing her today.
She didn't expect to see one of her classmates there today, but she knew a little about Abbey and felt that she supposed this wasn't really odd. She slowly approached the yeti and decided to speak up.
"... Hello... I suppose you do not have much to do this morning, either?" Her voice was quiet and she carefully eyed Abbey in front of her. Her first impression of the yeti had been cold and imposing. She admitted that she was a little frightened of her, but she did wish to get to know her classmates better.

Abbey looked up and offered her a slight smile. She was still pretty tired. "Da. Yes. Am sorry. Am not entirely awake in mind. No. Do not have anything to do, actually."

Merida blinked, her second impression forming somewhat quickly. "Ah, I see. I am still somewhat tired myself. I feel bored above all else, however, and it is getting a little annoying. I would study, but I am not exactly well liked to be holding books."
Her hand waved slightly as she said, and small, harmless blue flames erupted in a trail following her hand. They disappeared as quickly as they had shown themselves, and the distinct smell of burning candles began to dominate the library.

Abbey sniffed and closed her eyes, smiling a little. Almost in a dream like state, she muttered, "Smell very pretty." Her eyes opened again and she offered an even wider smile, "At least you turn off, and guess is unintentional. Two of Heath would be bad for every one."

She blinked until she realized Abbey had meant the flames. "Ah, yes... My flames are somewhat useless, only good for setting flame to paper. It is more like candle fire than fireplace fire." She held her hands behind her back and gave a small fire. "It is the price to pay when you are born of a flame of the lantern, as a Will'o'Wisp. Not a true fire elemental, but not a true ghost, either."

"Do not seem much like ghost." Abbey propped her head up on her arm, looking at her, "Do not carry so much sadness like ghost. Speak very softly."

"Wisps tend to be like that," Merida softly said, deciding to sit down at the table across from Abbey. "We do not dwell on much, just let fate take the reins."

She smiled a bit more and traced her claws on the table, "Yeti think fate have to do with much, but sometimes...I think fate have to do with little." Being at Monster High made her feel less hesitant to be away from the Yeti collective. "Maybe fate have to do with who end up at end of path with you, but...hear stories about how there are whole different worlds for each little decision."

"Those are just stories," Merida claimed, looking down for a minute at her hands. As a wisp, she was a firm believer in fate and didn't really believe that people had a hand in their futures. "I do not quite believe in them, but everyone believes different things and not everyone agrees with me or you, or each other."

Abbey shrugged, "Even if just stories, is nice idea. In other world, already live in down-below. Already be here without help." She glanced down and glanced back up, "Do you think fate bring special people to you? Friend and family?"

Merida slowly nodded. "My own fate brought me here to Monster High, and it brought a friend together with someone that she is still with. I am still waiting, I do not exactly have a family, but I would someday wish to know how that feels. I suppose I will have to see where my own fate brings me next..."
A Wisp technically had no parents. Each time a lantern or candle is lit, a wisp is born, to no parents but to the world regardless.

She tilted her head like an interested puppy and murmured, "What about other wisp? Do not have company?" She imagined it must've been very lonely.

Merida shook her head softly, looking down somewhat, as if upset. "... I am the only Wisp in the school. The others are all in Scotland, as far as I am aware."

"Am sorry." She nodded a little bit, "Understand feeling. Am only yeti too, but werewolves are close to yeti. Does not feel too much different with them."
