"At least you have someone somewhat like you. People tend to avoid me, I understand I'm a little different," Merida offered. She was happy that Abbey had people to at least relate to in some way, but Wisps were neither ghosts, or fire elementals, or banshees.

"Is nothing wrong with being different." Abbey looked at her with slight irritation, "If anyone say so, they not worth time. Different make special."

Merida blinked for a moment, almost as if "different is special" was a completely new concept to her. "... Something special? I have been told by many monsters and even Wisps that blending in is essential..."

"Depend on monster. Some monster go around normie. But here, what is point?" She realized she was probably coming off harsh and silenced herself, not sure of what to say. She was afraid she'd be offending her-she had a bad habit of doing that.

"Oh, I see, so everyone sees differently on that, too. Some wish to hide from the Normalities, while others wish to be proud of who and what they are," Merida said somewhat bluntly. She glanced around when she realized she had spoken somewhat loudly.

She broke into a huge grin, "Normies not worth effort to be afraid. In mountain, snowstorm is not worth treating like avalanche."

Merida smiled somewhat at Abbey's words. "That makes sense. What is like on the mountain? Do you sometimes miss it like I miss Scotland?"

"People are set in ways. Stubborn. Boys are direct and rude and elders hardly listen. Is much like here but less words." She giggled, "Miss family more than mountain. Is much easier to breath here."

Merida smiled somewhat fondly. "I wonder what it is like to have a family... to be part of one. At least there is one good thing about being down here... much easier to breathe... but I feel somewhat bad that you miss your family."

Abbey beamed; her family was a subject she could go on about for hours. "Family is like...big, loud gathering of people, even loud when everybody not saying much, because much not need to be said when everyone talking at same time. Always have each other's back and always bluntly obvious even if it hurt feelings. But yeti feelings not easily punctured. Having family is nice, but being in down below..." She almost wanted to say it made her want to bring her entire family with, but they would never agree to it.
