Ah. The coffee shop, or more correctly, Cafe Shoppe. Fancy title, with fancy expensive drinks. It made him feel important sipping on the drink and reading a book near the fire. It was a cool day out, one that he just wanted to curl up and sleep for hours. However, his father thought he had been spending too much time curled up in front of the fire. Saying that it wasn't that cold. Fenrir lapped some of the whipped cream up with his tounge before taking a sip of the coffee that lay beneath.
He wasn't exactly rich, and couldn't afford to do this every day. However, whenever he collected enough he would go out and pay for a coffee. As long as his coffee cup had some coffee in it, the staff didn't care if he stayed or went. He didn't like it when people told him to leave, he would do whenever he very well chose to. His feline attitude showing through.
In a tight pinch, like whenever the Cafe Shoppes owner came out to chase him away. He'd flash her a puppy dog face and the owner would cave. It was like taking candy from a baby.

Merida often wandered the streets of Salem when she was bored or had already finished her chores for the day. For the moment, Merida was wondering what kind of things this "Cafe Shoppe" had.
The Wisp entered the shoppe quietly, not caring much for the typical drinks listed. She must have gone through the menu more than once, going through the different drinks and trying to decide. It was a hard decision for her to make - she had never had any of these kinds of drinks before, and wanted her first try to at least be good.
The worker at the counter was already starting to get annoyed, a foot tapping sound chiming through the shoppe as Merida struggled to make her decision.

Fenrir's ear twitched at the sound of the annoying woman's foot tapping. He turned slightly so he could see what was happening and rolled his eyes. Couldn't that lady be a bit more patient? The stupid drinks were confusing enough for him, let alone people who had never been into the cafe. He hadn't noticed her in the cafe before, so that was why he presumed the girl was a first time comer.
He slid from his spot and quickly crossed the cafe. Smiling at the girl, he slid his eyes to the waitress and gave her a scowl. "If you are looking for something to drink, it all depends on your taste," he murmured softly, "If you have a sweet tooth, then try the strawberry chocolate blend, but if you want something bitter have the espresso with dark chocolate," he suggested smiling down at her. "They are purfect choices, however, you may want to go somewhere else, the service here isn't the best," he made a jab towards the waitress who looked like she had been slapped across the face. Serves her right, he thought, being so impatient.

Merida turned toward the young man, a confused expression on her face before she turned to the menu boards and the waitress. "I thank you, kindly, for your help..." she offered, before she lost her expression altogether, going to an unemotional one. "... Perhaps I will stay, despite the service. The espresso with the dark chocolate sounds nice."
Her impression of him was quickly noted. He was nice and helpful, she decided. She approached the counter and placed her order, which the waitress quickly punched into the till and began to make. Merida turned back to look at the young man that had helped her. "... Is the service usually that impatient?"

Fenrir shoved his hands into his pockets and smiled at the girl. "Nah, if Marie was working she's patient with everyone. You can be deciding for an hour and she wouldn't get peeved at you. This girl is new, doesn't know how to deal with costumes," he replied shrugging his shoulders, not caring if the girl heard. "She'll slacking out though. That's what happens when you work here. You eventually just learn that you shouldn't rush people because then they'll say you did something wrong."
He ran a hand through his hair and smiled at her. "You can come sit with me if you like," he replied with a purr.

For a moment, Merida blinked, before finally she smiled and nodded slowly. "I would like that, if you do mind. You are very kind, thank you."
She waited just a little bit longer at the counter before the employee returned with her ordered drink. She paid for it in full before she looked at the young man. "Where are you sitting? Also, my name is Merida. I do not believe I introduced myself. I apologize for that."

Fenrir smiled at the girl before waving towards his spot close to the fire where he left his book and coffee. "I am Fenrir," he said politely, "It is very nice to officially meet you, Merida," he nodded his head like a bow. He sat down and bookmarked his page in his book before glancing up at her. "I'm guessing you don't come here too often?" he purred raising his eyebrow at the girl.
He took a sip of the dark coffee and stared at the girl. His nose twitched as his body familiarized itself with her scent. That was the strange thing about being half-cat half-dog. His cat half didn't care to familiarize itself with scents, but the dog half had to. It was strange.

"No, I do not," Merida admitted as she sipped her drink. Her eyes widened at the surprising taste, quickly deciding that she liked it. "... I more often tend to avoid places like this. I am afraid that while I watched the world around me change, I neglected to change myself to fit into it."
It was an odd thing to say, she realized. She'll always be the same flame that erupted from the sacred oil lamp in Scotland, but she hadn't really changed all that much since then. She had stayed completely the same, only conforming in the style of clothes and not mannerisms or culture.

"Finally the day had ended!" she sighed it had been a rather long and tedious day for the pale skinng bat, her temples ached coupled with the burning throbs of her over exherted muscles from yesterdays flips, leaps, summersaults, and this mornings early morning run for the track team it leaft her completely drained. it was a small wonder how her mind could stay foucused on the lesson.
Placing her books in her locker a unbearable need to strech her already sore body, fingers getting lost in her hair as she let a content moan leave her lips. "That's better." as she reached inside to grab her notes to look over, a book whose chapter she had made a effort to try and read before the upcoming essay needed to be written slipped them into her backpack. The calm winds bathed her face gently as she decided whether or not she should go to the library or grab a large cup of tea from the Cafe shoppe to indulge in her latest book...and of course do her homework yes that was a good idea.
So she went int he direction of the cafe, it's smells always filled her with calm, the delicasee in clear containers always new ones waiting to be eaten. "Yes I'll have a lemon square and a extra large mug of deep steeped old chai tea, with a spoon of milk, honey, and a touch of that whip cream stuff! Please and thank you!" she cooed to the barista whose hands flew at the speed of light as they prepared her drink served with the lemon square. Finding a comfortable place to sit was simple she found one in the middle of the cafe, pulling out her novel from her pack a nibble from her treat Raaija was in heaven.

Fenrir smiled at Merida, laughing when her eyes widened, "You should come here more often, its not exactly high tech," he replied sipping his drink and then drumming his fingers on the table. The bells of the cafe door rang and his eyes flickered over. Seeing a girl enter. He rose his eyebrow curiously and watched her order. When the female who had been slow and irritated with Merida moved quickly and politely for the woman, he rolled his eyes.
"Bitterness doesn't suit her," he muttered nodding towards the girl behind the counter. "She coulda shown you the same respect," he sipped on his drink before watching he girl as she sat down and started reading. Curiosity building in him.

"I do not mind," Merida softly said as she looked down at her drink slowly. "Some people look at me and fail to relate, they find me odd. I realize that I look different, I sound different."
True, with her hair appearing to be nothing but blue fire, and her having a Scottish accent, she was different, but in a place where everyone wasn't exactly a normie, it didn't quite make much sense, and she understood that. But she was used to it.

"People are ignorant and should learn to ignore things like that," he waved off her words and took a sip of his drink and turned his gaze outside. "I mean harmless teasing is one thing, but treating you completely different is basic bullying," he shrugged his shoulders lightly, turning to glance at her, "Besides, you gotta celebrate you differences. If I didn't, I wouldn't be as awesome as I am right now," he said with a smirk and lifted the cup to his face.

Merida watched him closely while she took her own sip, mildly amused at his beliefs. She had always been told by the other Wisps in Scotland that blending in was essential, that it was important. If one couldn't accomplish it, well, then, they'd have to live with their difference and be a pariah or a leftover. It was certainly was different in Monster High, as was her first general impression of it.
Sometimes her first impressions were right. Sometimes they were wrong.
"... I see, so here, there is no such as thing as a 'socially proper way', as there is with the Wisps that I grew up with," Merida finally said, placing down her cup. "It is a slightly disturbing thought, but it is also a relief. Then how do I get past that to the same area as you are in? To the one where people accept who I am?"
